Prominent Libyan Participation in Geneva to Advance Victim Assistance
The Head of the Victim Assistance Department at the Libyan Mine Action Center took part in a side event organized by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) on victim support and assistance, held within the framework of the 29th International Meeting of National Mine Action Programme Directors and United Nations Advisors in Geneva.
The Libyan participation was alongside representatives from Gaza and Ukraine, where the Libyan delegate had the opportunity to present the progress achieved in Libya, outline national priorities in this field, and highlight the key challenges facing the enhancement of victim assistance services at the national level.
She emphasized that this engagement reflects Libya’s commitment to working in line with international standards and strengthening cooperation with international partners to develop support and assistance programs. The aim is to improve the quality of services provided to victims and to enhance their ability to reintegrate and actively participate in society.
