Conclusion of Training Course on Mine and War Remnants Awareness in Sebha

On Monday evening, September 7, 2026, the Faculty of Languages at Sebha University hosted the closing ceremony of the training course on mine and war remnants awareness, which ran for three days from September 5 to 7, 2026.
The course was organized by the Libyan Mine Action Center (LibMAC), in cooperation with the Department of Social Services, School Health, and Psychological Counseling at the Ministry of Education in Libya, and in partnership with UNICEF.
The program targeted 25 social workers and psychological counselors working in educational institutions in Sebha, with the aim of enhancing their capacity to address the psychological and social impacts of mines and war remnants, and strengthening their ability to provide support and assistance to affected cases.
Over the three days, the training included a series of lectures and workshops covering topics such as the identification of war remnants and mines and their types, principles of first aid in case of injury, psychological and social interventions for trauma management, and the role of educational institutions in promoting community awareness.
The program also featured interactive and recreational activities between sessions, which helped stimulate memory, break training routines, and foster engagement and communication among participants. The course witnessed strong interaction from both trainers and trainees, along with high levels of satisfaction regarding the organization, scientific content, and training quality, achieving its goals of raising awareness and enhancing participants’ skills in the targeted areas.
At the conclusion of the course, certificates of participation were distributed to the trainees in recognition of their involvement and completion of the training program.
