UN Trust Facility Team Visits Libyan Mine Action Center Branch in Misrata

As part of supporting mine action programs and activities related to conventional weapons carried out by the Libyan Mine Action Center, a team from the United Nations Trust Facility visited the Libyan Mine Action Center’s Central Branch in Misrata on December 10, 2025.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss mechanisms for supporting conventional weapons-related activities under the UNSCAR program, with the participation of international experts from HALO Trust. The meeting was attended by representatives from HALO Trust, Free Fields Organization, Libyan Peace Organization, and Safe Trust Organization.
Discussions focused on enhancing technical cooperation and exploring practical approaches to strengthen national efforts in managing conventional weapons, reducing associated risks, and supporting humanitarian initiatives aimed at protecting civilians and promoting community safety.
The Libyan Mine Action Center reaffirmed its commitment to working with national and international partners to advance effective and sustainable programs in mine action and conventional weapons management.
