Tripoli Hosts Third Coordination Meeting for Mine Action Implementing Partners
On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the Ministry of Defense Hall in Tripoli hosted the third periodic coordination meeting of the year for local and international implementing partners in mine action and war remnants response. The meeting was jointly organized by the Libyan Mine Action Center and the Libyan Ministry of Defense, in coordination with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS).
The event witnessed high-level diplomatic participation, including ambassadors, deputy ambassadors, and military attachés from the Netherlands, the European Union, Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Turkey, alongside representatives from embassies and local and international organizations active in mine action.
The meeting opened with official remarks from the organizing bodies, emphasizing the importance of unified national and international efforts to promote a safe and stable environment in Libya. The agenda featured presentations from implementing partners showcasing key field achievements, operational challenges, and lessons learned from recent activities.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion focused on enhancing coordination mechanisms, improving the quality and sustainability of mine action operations, and fostering greater integration among stakeholders to achieve shared humanitarian and security objectives.
