Libyan Mine Action Center Marks International Day for Mine Awareness

The Libyan Mine Action Center (LibMAC), in cooperation with the United Nations Mine Action Service in Libya (UNMAS), organized a ceremony on Tuesday in the capital Tripoli to mark the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, held under the slogan: “Invest in Peace, Invest in Mine Action”.
The event witnessed broad participation from relevant government stakeholders, alongside international and local partners, reflecting the shared commitment to addressing this pressing humanitarian issue.
During the ceremony, participants emphasized the importance of this global occasion in raising public awareness about the dangers of landmines and explosive remnants of war, while underscoring the need to sustain awareness efforts and strengthen coordination among national and international actors. Such collective action, they noted, is vital to mitigating the impact of these threats and fostering a safer environment for all.
