As part of its mandated responsibilities, the Libyan Mine Action Center (LibMAC) held a coordination meeting with the Military Manufacturing Authority on August 19, 2025, following directives issued by the Office of the Minister of Defense. The meeting was attended by the Director of LibMAC, the Director of the Military Manufacturing Authority, and officers from both institutions.
The discussion focused on enhancing joint cooperation in addressing the risks posed by explosive remnants of war, particularly in areas that present a direct threat to civilian lives. The parties explored mechanisms for relocating these hazardous materials either to designated safe storage sites or for destruction in accordance with national and international safety standards.
This meeting reflects LibMAC’s ongoing commitment to institutional coordination and the development of effective response strategies to mitigate the dangers of war remnants, ensuring public safety and supporting stability in affected regions.
