The Libyan Mine Action Centre, in cooperation with the Libyan Peace Organisation (LPO) and the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) organized, targeting members of the Libyan National Council for Women – Tawergha Office. The session aimed to raise participants’ awareness of the various types of explosive remnants of war and their dangers, while empowering them to transfer this knowledge to their families and local communities.
The session featured informative and interactive presentations on landmines and war remnants, along with practical guidance on identifying suspicious objects and avoiding them. Participants were also encouraged to report any findings immediately to the relevant authorities.
Session Objectives:
- Enhance awareness of the risks posed by unexploded ordnance.
- Empower women to play an active role in promoting safety culture within their communities.
- Support national prevention efforts in areas affected by conflict.
