As part of ongoing efforts to remove remnants of war from affected areas and to create a safe, contamination-free environment across our beloved homeland, the Libyan Peace Organization (LPO), under the supervision and presence of the Libyan Mine Action Center (LibMAC), carried out two controlled demolition operations to safely dispose of unexploded ordnance.
The operations took place on August 6 and August 13, 2025, in the Al-Karareem area east of Misrata, resulting in the destruction of approximately 4 tons of hazardous explosive remnants. These efforts fall within LibMAC’s strategic plan to protect civilian lives, in collaboration with partner organizations and supporting entities.
The Director of LibMAC extended his sincere gratitude to all donor agencies and supporting countries for their vital contributions to the success of these humanitarian missions. He also commended the tireless work of organizations operating in this critical field, emphasizing the importance of continued support to ensure a safer and more stable environment for all Libyans.
